In typing up this post I just figured out my problem: Apple's Firewall, blow a hole for port 52800 or disable it all together and everything is golden, wow, amazing stuff. The Cube's Status is Not Connected even though there is a disconnect button right next to it's Status, and it's Sender is AUNetSend. #DIGITAL PERFORMER 4.52 GENERATOR#I then added an AU Generator on my Cube using AUNetReceive.īoth Macs are on the same local network, The PowerBook's Status is "Listening" with all the other settings unchanged. I add the AUNetSend Effect in the audio in panel. #DIGITAL PERFORMER 4.52 DRIVER#Since I don't have any input solution for my Cube (M-Audio hasn't released a Tiger compatible driver for my Transit USB) I used my PowerBook's internal microphone as the audio in and it's internal speakers as audio out (obviously muting them due to feedback). I set my Cube speakers to 44.1kHz stereo 16 bit since that is the highest settings I can reach on my PowerBook. I have a 1.2 GHz G4 Cube and 400MHz PowerBook G3, both running Tiger with the Developer Tools Installed. These forums are they only place I can find that even mentions such capability, so if someone would be kind enough to go into some more detail I'd appreciate it a ton! #DIGITAL PERFORMER 4.52 HOW TO#The insert drop-down menu in your DAW will give you the choice to open a plug-in on an APA or on your regular system.I'm a little confused on how to get AUNetSend and AUNetReceive to work correctly in AU Lab. Whether you use a Native or TDM system, the included NetShell software handles shipping audio from your host computer to the APA unit(s) and back. Look for more platform support in the near future. On the PC, NetShell supports Pro Tools, Cubase, and Nuendo. MSRP: APA44-M, $2400.On the Mac, NetShell currently supports Pro Tools, Cubase, Nuendo, Logic Pro and Digital Performer. On PCs, these include ProTools 6.9, Cubase SX 3.0.2 and Nuendo 3.0.2.įor a limited time, APA customers will receive Waves’‚ popular IR-L Light Convolution Reverb and Q-Clone plug-ins free of charge. On the Macintosh, these include ProTools 6.9, Cubase SX 3.0.2, Nuendo 3.0.2, Logic Pro 7.1, and Digital Performer 4.52. Release 1 is compatible with both Mac and PC, and supports most DAW systems. Initially the APA-compatible Waves plug-ins are the 元 Multimaximizer, 元 Ultramaximizer, IR-360 Surround Parametric Convolution Reverb, IR-1 Parametric Convolution Reverb V2, IR-L Light Convolution Reverb, Linear Phase Equalizer, Linear Phase Multiband, C4 Multiband Parametric Processor, Renaissance Reverb, Renaissance Channel, SoundShifter, Morphoder, TransX and Q-Clone. #DIGITAL PERFORMER 4.52 UPDATE#No special authorization is required for Netshell or for an APA unit APA users just update their authorized Waves plug-ins to Netshell supported versions. The APA system uses Waves Netshell software, which is included in every new Waves bundle that contains Netshell-compatible plug-ins. The units can also be shared among several DAW workstations via a suitable V-LAN configuration, with each workstation accessing up to eight APA units. Up to eight units can be used together with an Ethernet switch. The APA units are connected to the host computer via a standard Ethernet port. The APA products use Ethernet connections and switches to enable stacking several APA units together and sharing them among several DAW workstations.Ī kit enables two APA44-M units to be mounted in a 1U rack space. Of course, if you are already running an APA44 or 32, this will just add more horsepower to your setup! They were originally almost $2000 each, so they are a bargain, but only if they work. They are brand new, never registered, and completely functional, but do some research to make sure they will be compatible with your system before buying them. I originally bought two of them to run their convolution reverbs, but actually never used them, because I upgraded everything else, and found I didn't need them. It is no longer supported by Waves, but the software and plugins are still out there. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Unless your DAW system fits the requirements below, this will not work for you! It can work for you if you are running an older system, probably pre-Intel, Lion or Mountain Lion.
